Medicare Fraud Strike Force
Medicare Fraud Strike Force teams were first established in March 2007 to combat the growing wave of Medicare fraud and abuse across the nation. Teams work with and are comprised of personnel from the Department of Justice, the Office of the Inspector General, Offices of the United States Attorneys, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and state and local law enforcement, as well as other agencies at the state and local level. Based in 12 major cities and two hotpot regions where fraud is especially rampant, these Strike Force teams are very effective at shutting down Medicare and other health care fraud schemes around the country.
